If you want your dog to love, trust, and respect you then you need to teach your dog to love, trust, and respect you. Ultimutt K9 is here to show you how to reach your goals.

You need your dog to respond and understand you and your family not only in your home but out in public. Our program teaches you how to use the correct phrases, hand signals, and body language with a calm but yet assertive attitude with proper timing.  We use love, praise, and repetition to motivate your dog.

You will NEVER be able to have your dog off leash if they only know food bribery, begging, and yelling. You need to manage your dog properly, always follow through with every command given.  Your dog may love you but we are here to teach your dog to respect you!

A few basic questions to ask yourself is:

• Do I really want to have my dog under control? 
• Does my dog respond to what I ask of them?
• Are you forced to play tug of war with the leash when on a walk?
• Do I have to put my dog in another room while guests are over because they do not behave?

If you can answer yes to any of these, then give us a call to recreate that loving positive bond.

Dog training will teach your dog to obey you.  There is never a need for harsh corrections, violence, or losing your temper when training. When working with your dog, you should always be calm and assertive. As long as we can get close to your dog, we can work with your dog. We do not discriminate against breed, age, sex, size, etc.

Many unwanted behaviors are a result of confusion as to who is in control/the pack-leader. Does your dog try to assert themselves and cause unnecessary and unwanted behaviors? Habits and behaviors start in the home. Working in this environment gives the most successful results.

There are so many questions and concerns with having a dog. Which one is right for us? Do I have time for a pet? Do I want a big or small dog? How do I welcome a younger dog into your home with an older pet?  We are here to help with all of your questions, concerns, and any problems you may encounter. This is a learning process and there is no need for frustration! A trained dog is a happy dog. 

After completion of your training, to maintain this level of success, it is recommended that you and your dog to routinely practice 10 - 15 minutes a day.  They want to feel as if they have a job/purpose this can be that fulfillment they need..It will give your dog happiness that your pleased with their actions and this can all be created with training.  

Ultimutt K9 is here to help with your real life problems. We have programs that take place in your home and out in the "real world." We believe in effective training that works in real life situations. As there are different levels of training, we work with you to address the issues that you are having and come up with a training plan.  The following are just some of the types of training we can perform.  

Welcome to puppy parenthood! The overwhelming feeling of excitement is just a fantastic feeling and time in all of your lives. The journey that you have entered can have its moments of difficulty. Do not stress though as this is why we are here to help!  A common question asked is whether it is too soon to train my puppy?  The answer is always NO. When training is started at an early age, they have less time to learn bad habits and behaviors. Early training lays a foundation for both you and your dog and it removes room for error. This will teach you both how to set up rules, boundaries, and proper limitations. 

During the training session we encourage the whole family to be there. We welcome all questions by all. The following are just some of the topics we will go over:

• Set up and establish a training program for your puppy
• Puppy Proofing your home
• Appropriate games and toys
• Socialization 
• Things to notice as your puppy grows up
• We will guide you on raising and giving your puppy the best care

The design for this class is to go over all of your questions and help lay the ground work prior to starting basic obedience. This session is an informative training session. 

This course is designed to teach you and your dog verbal signals and hand signals and give them meaning. You will learn how to appropriately interact with your dog. This course is the start and true foundation to learning how to communicate with your dog and for them to understand what you are asking of them. With this course you will also be learning how to assert your authority and gain the respect of becoming the "pack leader". We will train you to be a calm and assertive "pack leader". We work with a 15-foot leash for advanced training. Advanced training is working towards off-leash. Basic Obedience is a 6 week course. The course description is as follows:

Week one:

• Heel (walk with me/next to me)
• Sit
• No
• Okay- a release command
• Verbal and hand signals

Week two

• The automatic sit

Week three:

• Stay

Week four:

• Down

Week five:

• Come

Week six:

• A repeat and review of the previous weeks. Go over any questions that you might have. Upon completion of this program they graduate!

This course is designed to teach you and your how to advance towards off-leash training. This course is also to bridge the gap with other behaviors that need modifying.   Furthering obedience is a 6 week course where we will go over the highlights of your the previous course but also train you and your dog on a multitude of other behavioral advancements.

 This course is designed to teach you and your dog how to advance towards off-leash training. The E-collar is not something that should be used until completing the basic obedience course.  With all the training tools used during and after training, the E-collar gets the best results. The most effective result is the one that provides the best outcome.   The E-collar course is 6 weeks.  

Some of the reasons why the E-collar is used:

• When you have completed all levels of obedience. The E-collar is used to advance to having your dog off-leash.
• Poison proofing is when you do not want your dog to take food from a stranger, eat something they found, or stealing food
• Sport work
• A dog that likes to escape the house or yard
• It causes your voice to have meaning
• It can teach them that specific items are off limits i.e.the cat, the couch, your bed
• Invisible leash
• A way of making a correction
• To modify or change a behavior
• Food aggression
• Possessiveness
• Unnecessary barking
• Digging
• Set up and deal with unique situations
• Specific individual problems
• Destructive chewing

This course is designed to teach you and your how to advance towards off-leash training but in a more public setting.  . This course is also to bridge the gap with other behaviors that need modifying.

If you're looking for a quick fix there isn't one. There is no miracle video, device, or trainer that can give you instant results. Unfortunately, anyone who claims quick and permanent results is not being truthful. Training will go as far as you would like it to. Ultimutt K9 will work with you and your dog providing you with the knowledge to succeed. Your results will vary upon your discipline in following through during and after training completion. 

Besides a dog's natural intelligence and absolute loyalty, it is instinctual for them to have a job and a purpose. Through training we can teach you both how to fulfill this desire for them and satisfaction for you. A dog with bad habits can be frustrating and embarrassing. Properly socializing your dog combined with training will give you both the education and confidence to deal with most daily situations.

Training is something that needs to be done daily to keep up on both of your skills. This doesn't require a lot of time but it helps your dog with boundaries and gives them a "job" to look forward to. Giving them the time and attention for your daily training by going for a walk and giving commands or throwing the ball giving commands causes them to think. When stimulating their brain it is more productive than a few mile walk!
